Thank you to all who helped in the preparations for and participated in the funeral of Fr Anthony Minniter, former Parish Priest of Ballinderreen. We give thanks to God for his ministry in Ballinderreen Parish from July 2006 to January 2015, and we pray that Jesus the Good Shepherd may welcome him into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Communion visits to the housebound
Fr. Hugh will visit those who cannot come to Mass due to illness or old age, on
Thursday next, 31st October in Kinvara,
Friday 1st November in Ballinderreen.
Anyone who has become housebound recently is welcome to receive Holy Communion at home. Please contact Fr Hugh, or Catherine, the parish secretary, to be added to the list for a monthly visit.

First Holy Communion Preparation
First Holy Communion children and their families will all be together from St Joseph’s N.S. at the 7pm Mass in St Joseph’s Church, Kinvara this Saturday, and from
Doorus N.S. at the 9am Mass in Doorus Church this Sunday. We accompany them with our prayers.
November: Month of Prayer for those who have died
November Masses for the Dead: The November Altar Lists of the Dead and envelopes are now available at the entrances to the Churches. A Novena of Masses will be offered, between Kinvara and Ballinderreen, in early November, for those named on the lists. Please return them to the Churches for the beginning of November.

Ballinderreen Parish on Tuesday 5th November at 7pm and
in Kinvara Parish on Friday 15th November at 7pm.
Families of those whose funerals were held in the parishes during the year are invited. If you wish to attend and would like to have names of family members/ friends whose funerals took place elsewhere this year included, please give their names to Catherine in the Parish Office. All welcome. Tea/coffee afterwards in the Acorn Centre, Ballinderreen and Pastoral Centre, Kinvara.

Ballinderreen and Kinvara Masses for those who died during the year
The Ballinderreen Parish Mass offered for those who died during the year had to postponed last week due to the funeral of Fr Anthony Minniter. It will take place instead this week, on Tuesday, 12th November at 7pm in Ballinderreen Church. The Mass for Kinvara Parish will take place this Friday, 15th November at 7pm in St Joseph’s Church. For both Masses, the families of those whose funerals took place in each parish over the past year are invited to attend. Also, if you wish to attend and would like to include the name of a loved one who died elsewhere during the year, please give his or her name to Catherine in the Parish Office. All who attend each Mass are invited to stay on for tea and refreshments and a chance to meet and chat after the Mass in the Acorn Centre (Ballinderreen) and meeting room in the Pastoral Centre (Kinvara).

Diocesan Family Services collection next week
Next weekend, those using the parish envelope boxes will find an envelope for the annual special collection for the family services of the diocese. Proceeds from this collection help to finance services in the diocese catering for marriage and the family. These include ACCORD, which provides pre-marriage courses, and counselling for those experiencing difficulties in marriage, and the Galway Regional Marriage Tribunal.
Congratulations to our hurling and camogie champions!
Congratulations to the Kinvara hurling team who won the Galway County intermediate final against Kilconieron last Sunday, and will be playing senior hurling next season.
Congratulations also to the Ballinderreen camogie team on winning the county Junior A title against Salthill last Sunday and they will play at intermediate level next season.
The Kinvara / St Colman’s Junior B team also won their county title last weekend.
The Kinvara camogie team were playing in the intermediate county final against Carnmore in Loughrea on Saturday, after the printing of this newsletter, so we hope they did well!

Kinvara Prayer Meeting
Every Wednesday, 7pm—8pm in the Chapel of Adoration, St. Joseph’s Church Kinvara. All Welcome.
With the schools back in action, some parents might like to be aware that you would be very welcome at the morning weekday Masses. Parents leaving children to school in Ballinderreen N.S. might find the 9am Wednesday Mass in Ballinderreen Church a suitable time (except for the last Wednesday of each month when Mass is in Blake Manor Nursing Home at 11.45 am instead). Mass is at 10am in St. Joseph’s Church, Kinvara on Thursdays and Fridays.
Medjugorje Mass, Knocknacarra
On the last Thursday of every month, a free bus will leave St. Joseph’s Church at 7pm and St. Colman’s Church, Ballinderreen at 7.15pm. Contact Mary Farrell on 065 7078009 or 087 2104829.

Ministers of the Word
Is pleased to announce that you can now listen to it on the internet every Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 8pm. The Saturday Vigil Mass from St Joseph’s Church can now be heard every Sunday at 12 noon on 92.4 FM. Please pass on this news to those in the community who are unable to attend Mass.

You are welcome to take, free of charge, the prayer cards and religious magazines etc. left at the back of the Churches (except the Irish Catholic, which has to be paid for).

Loop Hearing Aid System
This system is now installed in St. Colman’s Church, Ballinderreen, St. Colman’s Church, Kinvara and St. Joseph’s Church, Kinvara. However, this system will not be available in St. Kieran’s Church, Doorus as the Church is too small for it to be effective.
In order to avail of this facility please switch your Hearing Aid to the ‘T’ position.
Induction loop systems are invaluable in assisting hearing aid users to understand spoken language, particularly in situations where there is background noise. Hopefully, this will be of great benefit to all hearing aid users.
