St Colman’s Church 200th Anniversary

2019 is the 200th anniversary of the dedication of St. Colman’s Church, Kinvara, the present-day official parish Church. There will be a special Mass with Bishop Brendan Kelly and celebrations on Sunday 22nd September. There will be a meeting this Wednesday, 3rd April at 8pm in the Pastoral Centre at St. Joseph’s Church to discuss ideas and for anybody who would like to be involved in the planning.

Lenten Faith Formation

This week’s episode of the Catholicism Series with Fr Robert Barron will be about Our Lady and will be screened in the Pastoral Centre, beside St. Joseph’s Church, Kinvara this Tuesday, 2nd April at 7.45pm. It is not necessary to have watched the previous episodes in order to get full value out of the episode, so all are welcome. Episodes in the weeks ahead: Video 4: Ballinderreen, 9th April, ‘The Church’. Video 5: Kinvara, 16th April, ‘The Saints’.

Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross this coming Friday, 5th April, will be in Ballinderreen Church. Stations alternate between Ballinderreen and Kinvara on the Fridays of Lent. A chance to follow the Way of the Cross with Jesus in preparation for Easter.

Fundraising concert, Friday 12th April in the Merriman Hotel Kinvara starting at 7:30pm with a prosecco reception. Acts include Acapella Knights, Galway Gospel Choir and a variety of local acts. Tickets €20, available from Eventbrite, the crèche and local businesses. All support greatly appreciated.

Loop Hearing Aid System

loopThis system is now installed in St. Colman’s Church, Ballinderreen, St. Colman’s Church, Kinvara and St. Joseph’s Church, Kinvara. However, this system will not be available in St. Kieran’s Church, Doorus as the Church is too small for it to be effective.

In order to avail of this facility please switch your Hearing Aid to the ‘T’ position.

Induction loop systems are invaluable in assisting hearing aid users to understand spoken language, particularly in situations where there is background noise. Hopefully, this will be of great benefit to all hearing aid users.
