St Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick's Day Masses
St. Patrick’s Day Masses
The feast day of our national Patron Saint coincides with Sunday this year on 17th March, so the Masses will be at the usual Sunday times. Parts of the Mass will be celebrated in Irish, but the usual missalettes will be available, so that everybody will still be able to follow what is being prayed. Please note that the special collection envelope for emigrants is in the parish envelope box for next week. The proceeds of this national collection are used to support Irish emigrants abroad through the provision of chaplaincy and other services.

Stations of the Cross

This week, Friday 15th March, the Stations of the Cross will be prayed in St. Joseph’s Church, Kinvara, at 7.30pm. The Stations will continue to alternate between Kinvara and Ballinderreen on the Fridays of Lent.

Lenten Faith Formation

Beginning on Tuesday 19th March in Kinvara Pastoral Centre, alternating every second Tuesday at 7.45pm during Lent with the Acorn Centre in Ballinderreen. There will be a screening of the Catholicism Series with Fr. (now Bishop) Robert Barron, a beautifully made series of videos on aspects of the Catholic faith. There will be a chance for a short discussion after the video on each of the evenings.

Trócaire Lenten Campaign 2019

Trócaire boxes are available at the Churches. Using the boxes is a good way of turning our Lenten penances into almsgiving, to give new opportunities to those who live in underdeveloped areas of the world. The boxes can be returned to any Church at the end of Lent and the proceeds will be forwarded to Trócaire.

Loop Hearing Aid System

loopThis system is now installed in St. Colman’s Church, Ballinderreen, St. Colman’s Church, Kinvara and St. Joseph’s Church, Kinvara. However, this system will not be available in St. Kieran’s Church, Doorus as the Church is too small for it to be effective.

In order to avail of this facility please switch your Hearing Aid to the ‘T’ position.

Induction loop systems are invaluable in assisting hearing aid users to understand spoken language, particularly in situations where there is background noise. Hopefully, this will be of great benefit to all hearing aid users.
