Confirmation Congratulations

Congratulations to the 65 young people who were confirmed by Canon Peter Rabbitte during the two Confirmation ceremonies in Kinvara on Tuesday. Thanks to the many people from the schools and parish community who were involved in various ways both in preparing the young people, preparing the Church and grounds, and in the different aspects of the liturgy on the day.

‘The Catholicism Series’

Lenten faith formation for this year begins this Tuesday, 19th March when the first video of The Catholicism Series with Fr (now Bishop) Robert Barron will be screened in the Pastoral Centre, Kinvara, at 7.45pm. The first topic will be ‘The Holy Land and the Story of Jesus’. Video 2: Ballinderreen, 26th March, ‘The Eucharist’. Video 3: Kinvara, 2nd April, ‘Mary’. Video 4: Ballinderreen, 9th April, ‘The Church’. Video 5: Kinvara, 16th April, ‘The Saints’.

Stations of the Cross

This coming Friday, 22nd March, there will be Stations of the Cross in Ballinderreen Church at 7.30pm. Stations alternate between Ballinderreen and Kinvara on the Fridays of Lent.

Invitation to have your baby baptised at the Easter Vigil

For any parents with a baby due for Baptism around Easter, please consider having him or her baptised at the Easter Vigil (Holy Saturday night, Kinvara 7pm, Ballinderreen 9.15pm). The Church considers that ceremony to be a particularly significant time to be baptised. If you would be interested, please contact the parish office.

Loop Hearing Aid System

loopThis system is now installed in St. Colman’s Church, Ballinderreen, St. Colman’s Church, Kinvara and St. Joseph’s Church, Kinvara. However, this system will not be available in St. Kieran’s Church, Doorus as the Church is too small for it to be effective.

In order to avail of this facility please switch your Hearing Aid to the ‘T’ position.

Induction loop systems are invaluable in assisting hearing aid users to understand spoken language, particularly in situations where there is background noise. Hopefully, this will be of great benefit to all hearing aid users.
