A group from Belgium, organised by the Marthe Donas Museum in Ittre, visited Ballinderreen Church on Saturday 20th April 2024, to see the stained glass window of the Deposition of Christ from the Cross. The window was designed by Marthe Donas in 1915 and executed by the An Túr Gloine studio, Dublin, in 1916. The sketch plan for the window is in the Marthe Donas Museum. See the details here from the Museum’s catalogue for their 2022 exhibition ‘Marthe Donas en Irlande’. This stained glass window is certainly a great treasure of Ballinderreen Church, and leads us to contemplate the events of Good Friday in the story of our salvation.
