The annual Cruinniú na mBád was held in Kinvara from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th August 2019. This was the 40th anniversary of the first Cruinniú. Cruinniú na mBád celebrates the links between Kinvara and Connemara and the distinctive Galway Hooker boats which carried turf from Connemara to Kinvara and other provisions then in the other direction.On the Friday evening, Dr Michael Brogan, chair of the Cruinniú gave a talk about the history of Cruinniú, outling the reasons for its foundation 40 years ago and fondly remembering those involved in starting it.The activity at Parkmore Pier on Saturday, in inclement weather.Mass was celebrated at the Pier on Sunday at 12 noon, with Fr Hugh Clifford, PP, as celebrant.
