Cemetery Masses 2024

During the Summer, we will have the celebration of the cemetery Masses in Kinvara and Ballinderreen Parishes. We lovingly remember the faithful departed and offer Mass for them, and we pray for the consolation of the bereaved. Fr Hugh will bless the graves after each of the Masses.

The dates for the Masses in the cemeteries are as follows:

Parkmore Cemetery: Friday 5th July 2024 at 7pm. (If weather is very inclement, the Mass would move to Doorus Church.)

Mountcross Cemetery: Friday 12th July 2024 at 7pm. (If weather is very inclement, the Mass would move to St Colman’s Church, Kinvara.)

Drumacoo Cemetery: Friday 19th July 2024 at 7pm. (If weather is very inclement, the Mass would move to Ballinderreen Church.)

Doorus Cemetery: Friday 26th July 2024 at 7pm. (If weather is very inclement, the Mass would move to Doorus Church.)

Foy’s Cemetery: Friday 2nd August 2024 at 7pm. (If weather is very inclement, the Mass would move to Ballinderreen Church.)

May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Priest Rotation Weekend, 15th & 16th June 2024

The priests of the parishes of Kilmacduagh deanery (i.e. South Galway) are having a rotation weekend, this 15th-16th June 2024, and so Fr Joe Roche, Parish Priest of Ardrahan, Kilchreest, Castledaly and Peterswell, will celebrate the Masses in Kinvara and Ballinderreen, while Fr Hugh visits Gort and Beagh. Masses will not be streamed this weekend.

Corpus Christi Procession 2024

 

To mark the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, the procession with the Blessed Sacrament will take place at the end of the 7pm vigil Mass in St Joseph’s Church, Kinvara on Saturday 1st June 2024, walking to the green area at Castleview Park, to end with Benediction. All are welcome. As is traditional, this year’s First Communion children are especially invited to participate, dressed in their First Communion outfits. Parents, please explain the meaning of the procession to the children beforehand, so that they can fully appreciate it.

Outdoor Mass at Blake Manor Nursing Home

This year we return to having the annual outdoor Mass at Blake Manor Nursing Home to mark Our Lady’s month of May. The Mass will be celebrated in the grounds of Blake Manor Nursing home on Wednesday 29th May 2024 at 3pm. Blake Manor would be delighted to welcome the community to this Mass.

This outdoor Mass can only go ahead if the weather is dry – please keep an eye on Blake Manor’s Facebook page and Ballinderreen/Kinvara Facebook page and any cancellations will be posted on the morning of the 29th of May.
